What additional costs are involved in hiring a tent?
Deposit – It’s up to your company to decide who charges a deposit and who doesn’t, but it’s worth bearing in mind that it may be included in the costs.
Delivery charge -There will certainly be a delivery charge when travelling from Budapest to the countryside or vice versa, but you may also have to factor this in for journeys within Budapest. The delivery charge is usually calculated based on the number of kilometres travelled. The delivery charge can be set at 80–120 Ft per kilometre per vehicle.
Tent hire -The cost of hiring a marquee depends on its size. In many cases, the larger the marquee and the longer it is left erected, the more favourable the price per square metre. Unless you are hosting a wedding with a very small number of guests, it is worth renting a marquee of at least 10×10 metres. The cost of renting a tent is between 700 and 1,100 Ft per square metre. It is easy to work out that, even when calculated using the most favourable price per square metre, this amounts to 70,000 Ft.
Construction/Demolition -If you don’t want to go to the trouble of doing this yourself, it’s worth asking for the tent to be put up and taken down for you. In many cases, you don’t have any other option, because many companies don’t allow you to put up the marquee yourself (and, it must be said, quite rightly), and they’re reluctant to hand the work over to an external specialist either. The cost of erection and dismantling varies depending on the size of the marquee, but in most cases there is a starting price, which is between 40,000 and 60,000 Ft.

How much does the tent hire cost in total?
Based on mid-range prices, the cost of hiring a 10×10-metre marquee:
- if you’d like us to carry out both construction and demolition work as well (for which we’re only quoting a starting price at this stage)
-and if you have it delivered 40 kilometres away, then It is estimated to be between 140,000 and 150,000 Ft
This does not include any security deposit, flooring, heating, furniture hire or other extras. Experience shows that you can easily spend at least this much on the extras, some of which you’re bound to need. In fact!
Important information: Rigid-frame flooring systems can level out uneven, sloping or bumpy ground, but they do come at a price. The cost of such a flooring system is roughly the same as the tent hire fee.
Tip: If the ground where you want to pitch your tent is more or less flat and even, ask for a rigid plastic floor. This type of tent floor is also quite durable and sturdy, with the difference that it is much easier to lay out than its rigid-frame counterpart. Consequently, it is also cheaper.
