One of the major dilemmas for guests is how to offer their congratulations, how to express their joy to the couple, and how to convey their best wishes for their marriage. Congratulations are most often expressed in the form of wedding quotes or a few heartfelt lines. No one wants to come up with a congratulatory message or wedding toast that is clichéd, impersonal, unsuitable for the couple, or – heaven forbid – even tacky.
It is best to write your wedding congratulations on a fold-out card, similar to a greeting card. It can be structured in any way you like, as the main thing is that both the sender(s) and the recipients find joy in it. If you do not wish to stray too far from convention, the card should contain a message of congratulations in your own words (I wish you both… for your life together, ‘With these words, I wish you every happiness’, etc.), a quote, the date and, of course, the signature(s) of the person(s) offering their congratulations.

1. Congratulations from the little ones
Congratulating others is usually the adults’ job, but why shouldn’t children be able to express this in some creative way too?
Let’s set up a small table for the children at the wedding, with a sign or arrow in front of, beside or on top of it to show that this is where they can create something lovely! Place a few pre-prepared white sheets of paper on the table, along with coloured pencils, crayons, etc., and ask the children to write or draw something, so that they too can express, in their own way, their best wishes for the young couple’s happiness. What couple wouldn’t be delighted by such a sweet gesture?
2. „Build” memories – wedding quotes with a twist 😀
Let’s lay out some Jenga blocks on a table and, using a board, ask the guests to write on them. This is a very creative idea; anyone familiar with the game knows how funny it will be when, whilst playing, these amusing messages or references to shared memories turn up, and, last but not least, it’s a request that many will surely be happy to fulfil – after all, who wouldn’t want to play Jenga?
